“I fear not the man who has practised 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times”. – Bruce Lee
Back before he was snatched from this god forsaken mud ball all too soon, the great martial artist and actor Bruce Lee imparted a lot of wisdom into this world, none better than the quote above.
Reading that, makes me think he would have been a fantastic golfer if he’d ever picked up a club. As far as I’m aware though the only clubs he picked up were in those outrageously good fight scenes he used to star in.
Pressing on.
There’s a big lesson for all golfers to take from that quote above and it relates to your swing and your long game.
You see time and time again I’m asked by golfers what swing should I use for my driver, what swing should I use for my sand wedge, what swing should I use for my seven iron?
The answer.
The same one.
It’s a lot easier to learn one swing than it is to learn three or four different swings for different clubs in the bag.
Granted yes, the setup will change a little bit depending on what club you use, for example the ball position will be further away from you for a driver than it is a seven iron because the driver is a lot longer than the seven iron.
But the swing will still be the same, the actual motion of moving the club back and through the shot should feel exactly the same with a driver as it does with a lob wedge.
Anyways sermon for today, over.
Something else Bruce Lee would have loved if he played golf, my e-book “9 Ways To Lower Your Handicap & Shoot Your Best Round Ever” – It contains some kick butt info in there, but as always, the info inside is only any good if you choose to implement it.
