Amazing how the world has become so offended at the slightest drop of a hat.
Political correctness has gone mad and the following is proof.
Not two weeks ago Hank Haney the former coach to Tiger Woods was on an internet based radio show for the PGA Tour.
They were commenting back and forth about the week pasts action and then the focus shifted to the upcoming week and what events were taking place in the golfing world around the globe.
One event taking place that upcoming week was the ladies US Open.
In conversation with Steve Johnson the anchor for the show, Haney admitted to not knowing the 74th U.S. Women’s Open was being played that week, nor knowing where the tournament was being held.
Big deal, it get’s better..
The conversation at the beginning of the talk show went like this:
“I’m gonna predict a Korean (will win),” Haney told Johnson, who laughed.
Johnson responded, “okay, that’s a pretty safe bet.”
“I couldn’t name you six players on the LPGA tour. Maybe I could. Well … I’d go with ‘Lee,’ if I didn’t have to name a first name. I’d get a bunch of them right,” Haney said.
“We’ve got six ‘Lee’s (on the LPGA tour),’” Johnson said.
Haney continued: “Honestly, Michelle Wie is hurt. I don’t know anybody. Where are they playing by the way?”
Anyways that was the conversation and the golfing world well mainly the media was in uproar. I personally found it quite refreshing.
Somebody speaking open and honestly about a situation.
Let’s face it, the women’s game doesn’t attract the same amount of attention as the men’s game, never has done, never will do.
Nothing against the ladies game, it’s just not the main fight on the card.
Sorry about that.
As for his comments about the nationality of the champion and the name of the champion, well this caused a huge hoo haa.
All sorts of accusations were being flung at the superstar swing guru, he was a racist a chauvinist and anything else that ends with “ist” you wanted to call him.
The irony of it all? And I love irony.
Is this, The winner that week?
J.Lee.
And where’s she from.
You guessed it, Korea.
I wonder if they will make a Paddy Power advert about that?
Apparently the PGA Tour are considering Haney’s position very carefully (he’s currently suspended from the show).
What a dilemma, we fired the guy for being right?
Mind you , if an ex premiership footballer who get’s filmed spitting on the window of a car gets to keep his job then I think Hank Haney will be back on the air predicting winners in no time flat.
Now the entertainments over with , time to make a little prediction myself.
I predict that if you use the “9 Ways to Lower Your Handicap & Shoot Your Best Round Ever” e-book, don’t just download it and leave it on your computers hard drive to gather dust, but actually apply the lessons inside, you will be a better golfer than you are now.
Dare to take me on with my prediction?
