Professional Golfer Spouts Words of Wisdom

“You can talk to a fade, but a hook just won’t listen” – Lee Trevino

Never has truer word passed the lips of a professional golfer.

The fade shot, the shot that start’s left of target and gently drifts to the right (assuming you’re a right handed player) is one of the safest shots to have in the game of golf.

Reason being is the fade shot actually contains more back spin than the draw shot, so naturally it will travel higher and spin more therefore coming to a stop a lot quicker when it hits the ground.

Now in our long hitting draw obsessed golfing society, many people will turn their noses up at the mere thought of fading the ball and hitting it left to right.

Silly people.

Many of the greatest players who ever lived faded the ball and on purpose.  Reason being, it gave them so much more control over their shots, and control equals money and trophies and a place in the record books.

Look at the top players on tour now, especially the lads who are launching it into next week, Dustin, Brooks and co. They all hit the ball left to right, for the added control.

So embrace the fade.

It’s not the worst and it keeps you on the straight and narrow better than an old school mistress with slipper in hand.

Of course if the fade turns into a slice, then you’re in trouble. Same with the draw turning into a hook, that’s guaranteed scorecard disaster.

Now onto more pressing matters, how to get that handicap of yours down and keep it down. My e-book “9 Ways to Lower Your Handicap & Shoot Your Best Round Ever” is just the ditty, and you can get your hands on a copy by visiting this link here.
