Welcome to the easypar.com
Today is the first blog post of what will be a library full of posts dedicated to helping you, improve your golf game, quickly.
The whole reason this site exists is to help golfers like you, get better.
With one, slight difference.
Gone is all the technical mumbo jumbo, all the complicated theory about swinging a golf club and what it takes to play your best golf.
At the easypar.com you will get straight forward, no nonsense advice on what to do and how to go about doing it, in order to get better and improve your golf.
You see, the golf industry has done a stellar job in confusing the heck out of everyone. Where on earth would it be considered the norm for people to be participating in a sport for years at a time and still not be any better?
I recently read a study about recreational golfers that indicated the average player will hit their peak in terms of ability roughly two years after taking the game up. After that, they simply plateau.
AKA – Do not get any better.
I’ve lost count of the amount of people who I’ve met who are on the verge of quitting golf, or simply have resigned themselves to the fact they will never get any better.
And I’m not just talking about complete no hopers, I’m talking about people who have athletic ability, common sense, artistic or musical ability, dedication, determination, desire and a hunger for success in anything they do in life.
But when it comes to golf, they suck, and they know it, and it hurts.
But why?
Well, in my opinion, it’s because of the way the game is perceived by people, as a complex motion that requires hours upon hours of repetition to get right, and even then you still might not be any good.
This perception has largely been created by the way the game has been taught, both through physical instruction, the written word, audio and video. The golf industry has a world class record in taking the simple and turning it into the complex.
Here’s a point worth thinking about.
Around fifty years ago, the United States Golf Association or some other similar official golf body carried out a study on the ability of the average American recreational player. The aim of which was to find out the level of ability of said player.
The results of that study showed that the average handicap for the recreational player was around 20, give or take, I can’t remember the exact number, but it wasn’t exactly setting the world on fire.
They repeated the study some years later, around forty years later, expecting to see a marked improvement in the average players handicap due to the advancements in equipment, coaching, technology, agronomy, health and wellbeing of people, work life balance etc.
And do you know the result?
The average handicap was the same.
Even with the advancements in technology, coaching and equipment.
Even though people were playing on better conditioned courses, were fitter and in better health, playing more rounds of golf and overall had more access to golf.
The average players score was still the same.
That’s just crazy.
And that is why we are on a mission. A mission to make the game simpler, easier to understand and as a result, far more enjoyable.
So consider the easypar.com your go to resource for improvement.
My hope is, that here, on this site, you will find little nuggets of information, little gems of inspiration that you can apply to your game that will turn you into the player you know you can be.
After all, this game is very simple, ridiculously simple, but is made very complicated by those who play it, and this complexity is what holds millions back from achieving what they are capable of on a golf course.
So with that said, I welcome you to the easypar.com and look forward to guiding you on your journey to improving your golf.
It may only be a game, but when you play it well, I mean really play it well, it gives you a feeling like no other. Making the effort to improve and following through on that goal will be one of the most worthwhile things you will ever do in your life, for so many reasons that can’t be written about in one single post, but will undoubtedly be covered throughout this site in time.
So welcome and enjoy the easypar.com, it will be sitting here waiting for you, wherever you are whatever the time of day.
Keep em straight
