Why I Dig the Hogan Philosophy

“Dig it out of the dirt, that’s where the secret is”. – Ben Hogan

Practice, it can be a luxury to many, a chore to others, but make no bones about it, you’re gonna struggle to get any better if you don’t do some.

Now practice comes in all forms and guises. Just standing on the range and mindlessly banging balls is one form of practice, but it can be a very slow process, especially if you don’t know what you should be working on.

No, sometimes you’re far better just grabbing a club and working on your grip for five minutes, making sure your hands are on the club correctly and it feels right.

Might only take five minutes, but it’s a quality bit of work you can take to the golfing bank.

Same with standing in front of a mirror and rehearsing the moves of your swing in slow motion to groove the feeling of a good swing.

Just don’t do it in a public toilet, you’ll get a lot of weird looks but that’s another story for another time.

Five minutes holing some three footers on the carpet at home, working on your putting stoke is time well invested and will repay dividends. Yes time is short in this world but like so many things if you get real with yourself, you’ll find the time.

And ten minutes is all it takes.

So put the smart phone down and put ten minutes into your game, do this every other day and I promise you, you won’t recognise your game in a year.

But have you got the discipline to do it?

It’s only ten minutes and will it really pay dividends for your game? Of course it will, listen to uncle Bobby, he knows best.

After all, this game is far more fun when you play well and score well so why wouldn’t you want to work towards that?

No matter what your time constraints are, remember that doing something always beats doing nothing.

Now, onto business.

The free e-book “9 Ways to Lower Your Handicap & Shoot Your Best Round Ever” is packed full of clear, precise instruction that will have you improving faster than lies flowing from a politicians lips.
